About Surah Quraysh
Surah Quraysh (قريش) is the one hundred and sixth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “Quraysh.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 4 ayahs and is contained in the thirtieth Juz of the Quran.
Surah Quraysh reminds the tribe of Quraysh of the security and economic blessings they enjoyed through their seasonal trade journeys.
The Surah refers to their journeys in winter and summer, which supported commercial life in Makkah.
These blessings are connected with the safety of the Sacred House and the stability Allah provided.
The Surah therefore instructs Quraysh to worship the Lord of this House rather than taking those benefits for granted.
It reminds them that Allah provided food against hunger and security against fear.
Surah Quraysh teaches that economic stability and safety should lead to gratitude and worship, not complacency.
