About Surah Al-Fil
Surah Al-Fil (الفيل) is the one hundred and fifth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Elephant.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 5 ayahs and is contained in the thirtieth Juz of the Quran.
Surah Al-Fil recalls the event of the army of the elephant and Allah's protection of the Sacred House in Makkah.
The Surah asks whether people have considered how Allah dealt with a powerful military expedition that intended to destroy the Ka'bah.
It explains that the attackers' plan was brought to nothing despite their apparent strength and resources.
The event is connected with birds that struck the army with stones, leaving its force ruined.
The short Surah demonstrates that human plans and military power remain subject to Allah's will.
Surah Al-Fil reminds believers that protection and success do not depend only on visible strength.
