About Surah Al-Ma'un

Surah Al-Ma'un (الماعون) is the one hundred and seventh chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “Small Kindnesses.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 7 ayahs and is contained in the thirtieth Juz of the Quran.

Surah Al-Ma'un explains that denial of accountability can be seen in everyday behavior toward vulnerable people and in the quality of worship.

The Surah describes a person who pushes away the orphan and does not encourage feeding the poor.

It then warns people who perform prayer carelessly or only for appearance.

The Surah connects social compassion with sincerity in worship, showing that religious practice should affect how people treat others.

It also criticizes refusing even small acts of assistance that neighbors or community members commonly need.
