About Surah-Saba

Surah Saba (سبأ) is the thirty-fourth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “Sheba.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 54 ayahs and is contained in the twenty-second Juz of the Quran.

Surah Saba discusses gratitude, the blessings Allah gives to individuals and communities, and the consequences of using those blessings without recognizing their true source.

The Surah mentions Prophet Dawud (David), peace be upon him, and the special abilities Allah granted him, including the softening of iron and the mountains and birds joining in praise.

It also describes Prophet Sulayman (Solomon), peace be upon him, and the authority, knowledge, and resources Allah placed under his command.

A major section concerns the people of Saba, who enjoyed fertile gardens and prosperity but failed to remain grateful. Their story demonstrates how blessings can disappear when people persist in ingratitude.

The Surah challenges the idea that wealth and children automatically indicate closeness to Allah and reminds people that faith and righteous deeds are the true measures of success.

Surah Saba encourages reflection on the Hereafter and emphasizes that no worldly power can prevent a person from returning to Allah.
