About Surah As-Saff
Surah As-Saff (الصف) is the sixty-first chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Ranks.” It is a Madani Surah consisting of 14 ayahs and is contained in the twenty-eighth Juz of the Quran.
Surah As-Saff emphasizes consistency between words and actions, disciplined cooperation, and sincere support for the cause of Allah.
The Surah strongly criticizes saying what one does not do and presents integrity as an essential quality of sincere believers.
It describes Allah's love for those who stand together in disciplined ranks, like a firmly constructed building.
The Surah refers to Prophet Musa, peace be upon him, and the difficulties he faced from his people despite their knowledge of his mission.
It also mentions Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, and his call to the Children of Israel, including the good news of a messenger to come after him.
Surah As-Saff invites believers toward a 'trade' that leads to salvation: faith, sincere commitment, and striving with one's resources and abilities.
