About Surah Al-Hadid
Surah Al-Hadid (الحديد) is the fifty-seventh chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Iron.” It is a Madani Surah consisting of 29 ayahs and is contained in the twenty-seventh Juz of the Quran.
Surah Al-Hadid emphasizes Allah's sovereignty, the temporary nature of worldly life, charity, justice, and the responsibilities that come with faith.
The Surah begins by declaring that everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah and that His knowledge encompasses all things.
It encourages believers to spend from what Allah has entrusted to them and distinguishes between those who gave and struggled during more difficult periods and those who came later.
The Surah describes worldly life as a temporary combination of play, decoration, competition, and increase in wealth and children, reminding people not to confuse temporary success with lasting value.
It also refers to the messengers, scripture, balance, and iron, showing the importance of both moral guidance and material strength in establishing justice.
Surah Al-Hadid encourages humility, generosity, and a balanced understanding of worldly resources as tools rather than ultimate goals.
