Surah Al-Fatihah

Surah Al-Fatiha (الفاتحة) is the first chapter of the Holy Quran and is known as “The Opening.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of seven ayahs and appears at the beginning of the first Juz of the Quran.

Surah Al-Fatiha holds a central place in daily Muslim worship and is recited in every rak‘ah of Salah. The Surah praises Allah as the Lord of all worlds, recognizes His mercy and sovereignty, and includes a prayer for guidance to the straight path.
