About Surah Al-Falaq

Surah Al-Falaq (الفلق) is the one hundred and thirteenth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Daybreak.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 5 ayahs and is contained in the thirtieth Juz of the Quran.

Surah Al-Falaq is a prayer seeking Allah's protection from different forms of external harm.

The Surah begins by seeking refuge in the Lord of daybreak, recognizing Allah as the One who brings light after darkness.

It asks for protection from the evil found within created things when that evil becomes harmful.

It also mentions the darkness of night, harmful occult practices, and the danger of envy when it turns into malicious action.

The Surah teaches believers to respond to fear and hidden harm by turning to Allah rather than becoming consumed by anxiety.

Surah Al-Falaq is commonly recited together with Surah An-Nas as part of seeking spiritual protection.
