Surah Ad-Dukhan (الدخان) is the forty-fourth chapter of the Holy Quran. Its name means “The Smoke.” It is a Makki Surah consisting of 59 ayahs and is contained in the twenty-fifth Juz of the Quran.

The Surah begins by referring to a blessed night in which matters are made clear by Allah's command and presents the Quran as a mercy and warning.
It mentions the smoke as a sign of punishment and warns people not to ignore clear guidance until consequences become unavoidable.
The Surah also recounts the story of Pharaoh and his people and the rescue of the Children of Israel, showing the outcome of persistent arrogance.
It contrasts the punishment of wrongdoers with the peace, security, and blessings prepared for the righteous.
Surah Ad-Dukhan encourages people to take revelation seriously and to prepare for a day when neither status nor worldly support will be sufficient.
